I race to the kitchen garden.

With my muzzle close to the ground,

I sniff around in the vegetable patches.

‘Cluck, cluck, are you looking for worms, too?,’ a chicken right next to me asks.

‘Yuck, worms!’, the rabbits call.

That’s what I think, too.

But I only say, ‘No, I’m looking for my bone.’ Here – I must have buried it right here.

I quickly dig it out. Then I lie flat down on the ground and begin to gnaw it.

Hmm, yummy!

Next, I go to visit the cows and sheep on the pasture. Suddenly I can see something brown with very long ears. I creep closer. Oops – a hare jumps up and runs away.

Of course, I follow it. Just you wait, I’ll catch you! But then – splash! – I find myself in the water! ‘Honk, honk! You can’t sidestep as fast as the hare!,’ the goose laughs gleefully.
